Dragon Storm Fantasy

I've recently started playing "Dragon Storm Fantasy" (for Android) via FreeCash*. The rewards on FreeCash* vary based on their multiplier system. For me, with a multiplier level of 4 out of 5, they're offering up to £120 for reaching level 500 within 30 days.

While I doubt I'll reach the max level, my goal is to hit level 300 within 10 days, which would earn me £24.01. Originally I thought it was 20 days, which seemed like a realistic target for me, but after realising you only get 10 days, I think this might be a bit of a push...

Game Overview: Simplified MMO with Auto-Play

Dragon Storm Fantasy is a shared world MMO featuring simple dungeons and raids. The game includes a complex story with a lot of fully voiced dialogue and flashy 3D graphics. There are also shared world events at peak times, a team/guild system, and more.

For the most part, the game plays itself in auto-battle mode, leaving you to navigate through a multitude of menus and options for collecting rewards, upgrading, and deciding what to do next. I chose the Archer class, and 24 hours in, I'm already at level 185, although the leveling pace has started to slow down. I’ve enjoyed playing so far and would probably continue even without the reward offer.

My Strategy To Attempt To Reach Level 300

To level up faster, I purchased the Monthly Card Privileges for a +30% AFK XP increase and the EXP Privilege for +30% monster and story XP. FreeCash* offered me a £16 rebate for spending £20 on in-app purchases. In total, I spent £21.85, £2.12 of this from from Google Play Store credit earned through Google Opinion Rewards.

Calculating Costs and Rebates

After factoring in the Play Store credit and FreeCash* rebate, I sit at a negative £3.73 to start at. These purchases also granted me a follower "guardian" that provides an additional +50% monster XP and +50% AFK XP. I’m hoping these bonuses will help speed up my progress and potentially push me toward higher rewards.

Current Progress and Next Steps

As of now, I've earned 81p for completing the initial installation and reaching level 100 within two days. I'll post another update after the 30 days are up to share how this went and the final results. Hopefully I can turn a profit and not be tempted by any more purchases if/when I get stuck.

UPDATE - 5th September:

I managed to reach level 285 & at this point it’s clear I’m not going to hit level 300 within the 10 days needed.

The main reason is the screen on my phone has died & I have had to switch to a different device. The rules on these sites are very clear that you must complete the offer on the device you initially downloaded the game on. This means I can no longer make any progress towards the FreeCash* offer.

However, I’m only gaining 4-5 levels a day now anyway, with 1 or 2 days to go. Even with doing absolutely every task possible each day without additional spending. I have also had a 1.5x exp potion running permanently the whole time.

Had I managed to hit “vip4” account status by spending a little differently at the start, as well as managed 100% in-game live event attendance, there is a small chance that it might have been possible.

The end result then is a reward of £4.01 from the challenges I did complete, offset by the previous £3.73 negative balance. A final profit of just 28p… At least it wasn’t a loss!

I did enjoy the time I spent on the game though, so I don’t feel like it was a total waste of time. If I’m not playing games that have these potential rewards on offer, then I would be playing other games anyway that offered nothing.
